Judging Hotchkiss K-8 Door Decorations

Hotchkiss K-8 invited members from the Town of Hotchkiss to judge their students’ festive decorations. Up for that enjoyable task were (left to right) Mayor Pro-Tem Mary Hockenbery, Deputy Chris McDonald from the Hotchkiss Marshal’s Office and Tracy Ihnot representing the Hotchkiss Community Chamber of Commerce Board. Accompanying Tracy was her daughter Teagan. The students did a great job making the school sparkle for the holidays. Amy Miller, Hotchkiss K-8 Instructional Coach, said the competition was close for the Door Decorating Contest. Congratulations to the winners:

Elementary
1st – Mrs. Flores (the forest/birds/kids with snowflakes on their tongues)
2nd – Mrs. Baes & Mrs. Shaklee (the hearth/stockings – kids’ hands made the fire and wreath)
3rd – Mr. Miller & Mrs. Peebles (White Christmas – almost)
Middle School
1st – Mrs. Price & Mrs. Simpson (log cabin Christmas)
2nd – Mrs. Bayles & Mrs. West (the Grinch)

Miller added, “We appreciate the support from our community and hope you enjoyed your visit to Hotchkiss K-8!”

Hockenbery concluded it was the most enjoyable thing she’s done on the Board of Trustees.

Mrs. Flores’ students won first among the elementary classes.
